Mixed native broadleaf scheme in upland Northumberland. Following many years of intensive farming, management of the estate is changing to prioritise ecology and biodiversity. The choice of species (oak, lime, aspen etc), the management regime (continuous cover) and the location of the planting all reflect these wider objectives.
